ISSAC DELGADO

Issac Felipe Delgado Ramirez was born on April 11th, 1962 in Marianao, in the City of Havana.

Son of Artists, his mother Lina Ramirez was an actress, dancer and singer of Teatro Musical de La Habana in the internationally famous ballet company "Las mulatas de Fuego", directed by renowned choreographer Rodrigo Neyra (Rodney). The elder brother of Issac, Nelson, singer, guitarist and composer, is the son of Angel Diaz, musician and composer, who along with Jose Antonio Mendez and Cesar Portillo de la Luz gave birth to the movement "Filin" in the '40s.

In his childhood he admired his musician brother but especially his mother, who at this time is a famous actress who works with prestigious names of the Cuban theater. In the days when Lina does not work, musicians and actors visit her house, Elena Burke, Jose Antonio Mendez, Martha Valdes and Meme Solis participate to these meetings, the creative environment pushes the little Issac at the age of ten  to attend the "Amadeo Roldan " school to study the cello.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the age of 18 , Issac joined the group "Proyecto" directed by the composer, pianist Gonzalo Rubacalba, which poses to international attention by highlighting the strong talents of these young people. From this moment on, Issac decided to study singing with Mariana De Gonich and attend the school for musicians, "Ignacio Cervantes".

In 1983 he began his professional career in the famous Orchestra of Pacho Alonso (Cuban artist creator of Pilon), directed by his son Pachito Alonso. With this orchestra he made his first international tours and recorded a record produced by CBS in Spain.

In 1987 he joined as a vocalist in the group "Galaxia" with other young talents such as Ramon Huerta, Diego Valdes, Angel Bonne, José Miguel Crego among others. Also in '87 he leads a show as a solo singer of the famous Tropicana cabaret and performs with the percussionist Tata Guines, with "Lady Feeling" Elena Burke,  her daughter Malena Burke and with the quartet "Los Papines".
