NICKY JAM


Nick Rivera Caminero better known as Nicky Jam, was born in Boston and is today a reggaetón boricua singer famous for several hits such as: El Perdón”, “Travesuras”, “Me Voy Pa'l Party”, “Hasta El Amanacer”, “En La Cama”, “Yo No Soy Tu Marido”, “Mayor Que Yo” and others. Born from a Puerto Rican father and Dominican Mother, he moved to Puerto Rico when he was 10 years old.

1994: he recorded at the age of 11 the album “Distinto A Los Demás”, which helped to make public his musical talent since very young and drawing the attention of Urbano recording producers as Dj Joe, Dj Playero, Dj Chiklin. After his first album, Nicky continued working and managed to place more than 10 Urbano hits in the charts, so getting the chance to meet Daddy Yankee who Nicky admired and who proposed Nicky to be his backup singer during a concert in the Dominican Republic. That cooperation led to a strong working partnership as well as to a personal bond having as a result a fantastic duo, and at the same time, both went on recording music individually.

2001: he published the album “Haciendo Escante”.

2003: he published the album “Salón de La Fama” with White Lion Records.

2004: he started to be a popular singer and published the albums: “Vida Escante” and “Vida Escante: Special Edition”, getting a certain success.

2007/2008: the last album “The Black Carpet” was released by La pina Records and after a career timeout due to personal problems he decided to move to Medellín, Colombia. The affection and hospitality of the Colombian public made him feel at home and his musical career quickly raised again. He signed many hits such as: “La Prepago”, “Piensas En Mi”, “Curiosidad”, “Juegos Prohibidos”, “Tu Primera Vez”“El Party Me Llama” with Daddy Yankee, all numbers one for many weeks in Colombia and other South American countries Music Charts. He manages to have good positions still today in that music genre.

2013: the seventh Album titled “Nicky Jam Punto 7” is released. It includes many partnerships with famous artists; a new project coming from an old one. Nicky Jam is one of the most interesting raggaeton singer and leader of the current Latin music world. He recorded with artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Juanes, Maluma, Farruko, Plan B, J Balvin, J Alvarez, Tony Dize, RKM & Ken-Y, Tito El Bambino, Arcangel, De La Ghetto, Don Chezina, Baby Rasta & Gringo, Zion & Lennox, Shaggy and many more.

2014: he reached worldwide success with the singles El Perdón”, “Si Tu No Estás” together with De La Ghetto, “Travesuras”.

In 2015 he recorded “El Perdón” with Enrique Iglesias and finally got the global popularity he really deserves. In fact he receives the nominee for the YouTube Music Awards and has been nominated for the first time for the Billboard Awards for Latin Music.

Until today Nicky Jam seems to be the new Star in the Urbano Movement and his hit “Travesuras” is the latest in Reggaetón genre in all clubs all over the world, product released by Planet Records under exclusive licence by Codiscos for the European Union territory. In the 2016 it is double Platinum in Europe.
